"You're the Top' — Hats, Bonnets and Headgear"
Date: April 27, 2008
Time: 10-4:00 pm
Made of straw, felt, satin and leather, the hat was essential clothing
for all classes until the mid-20th century. This display at the New Milford
Historical Society traces the hat's history from Revolutionary times to
the early 1960s. The exhibit offers a view of the Connecticut hat craft
and fashions spanning almost 200 years and continues through the end of
July.
