Thursday, January 18
Syrups & Cider
Starts at 6:30 PM
Join registrar, Amie Walston and fellow herbalist Lori Angelicola as they lead a hands-on
workshop making traditional winter wellness recipes. Learn about the immune boosting
and germ fighting qualities of some common grocery staples; and discover the benefits and
historical uses of local plants. Participants will take home their own bottles of infused vinegar
commonly known as “fire cider” and elderberry syrup for their own preventative care aresenal
this cold and flu season.
Ms. Walston and Ms. Angelicola met at Twinstar School of Herbal and Energetic Healing,
where they completed The Art and Science of Herbalism, a Rosemary Gladstar correspondence
course. They’ve been gardening, foraging, making herbal concoctions and sharing their
knowledge with friends ever since!
Held in the Boardman Store Gallery at the New Milfored Historical Society & Museum at the
North end of the Green on Thursday January 18th, 2018 from 6:30-8:00 pm.

Kiwanis Flags of Valor

We invite you to Sponsor a Flag in Honor of a Veteran!
In honor the upcoming Veteran's Day, in honor and in memory of our Military Veterans and those men and women
actively serving our country today, the Kiwanis Club Foundation of Greater Danbury, Inc. will erect the Kiwanis Flags of
Valor on the New Milford Historical Society and the Town of New Milford's lawn at the north end of the Green. The Field
of Valor will include at least 300 full size (3 foot by 5 foot) American flags and will be on display from November 4
through December 2, 2017.
All are invited to sponsor anyone they would like to HONOR with one of these keepsake flags. Your Honoree and
sponsor name will be proudly displayed on a yellow ribbon with each flag. Major sponsors will be identified with on-site
signage and up to ten flags for their honorees.
All proceeds support the efforts and the programs of the Kiwanis Club Foundation of Greater Danbury, Inc, 501c. We are
a volunteer organization whose mission is "To serve the children of the world, one community at a time." Look for more

New Milford Historical Society Museum Art Show
September 15, 2017 – October 15, 2017

The New Milford Historical Society will host an art show to celebrate all things New Milford this fall! The show is titled, An Artist’s Eye on New Milford and will run from September 15th until October 15th in the Boardman Store Gallery at the Historical Society. All work displayed must be original and feature recognizable structures, scenes, or events in New Milford. Paintings using different mediums, photographs, and hand-built models or sculptures may be submitted for consideration. An artist does not need to be a resident of New Milford to participate in the event, but artwork must be original and created by the person entering the piece. The Historical Society is not charging an entry fee, but is limiting artists to select one piece of work to display. There will be an opening reception on Friday, September 15 from 7-9 pm.
